stainless steel flat bar

Stainless Steel Flat Bar is a common term referred flat bars made up of stainless steel. There are different types of stainless steel such as ferritic, autenitic, martensitic and duplex. stainless steel flat bar comes in various alloys of which the most common are 304 and 316. It is produced in all sizes and finishes.

stainless steel flat stock

stainless steel flat bar stock is stocked as annealed and pickled and available in both 304 and 316 grades in a variety of sizes.stainless steel flat bar 1 mm, 2mm stainless steel flat bar, stainless steel flat bar 3mm, stainless steel flat bar 5mm., etc

stainless steel flat bar sizes

stainless steel flat bar standard sizes  in flat bar ranging from 12-100 mm in width, with thicknesses of 2 mm, 2,5 mm, 2,7 mm and 3 mm, and a length of 6 m.

Stainless Steel Flat Bar Uses

On account of its versatile applications, Stainless Steel bars are used in a variety of industries, such as shipbuilding, defense, automotive, textile, paper and pulp, fabrication, cement, heavy earth moving equipment and construction. It may be referred to as “furniture grade” or “kitchen grade” stainless and is good for internal and some outdoor applications.

Stainless Steel Flat Bar Finishes

Finishes: There are a couple of standard finishes available today, HRAP and Cold Finished ( Cold Drawn). The difference between a true mill flat bar and sheared or flat bar cut from the plate is dimensional tolerance. In the true flat bar, tolerances for width and thickness are restrictive and have the better finish. In cutting bar from the plate, the diametrical tolerance will be more generous and in line with the cutting method. The thickness of the flat bar cut from the plate will be same as that of the HARP plate. Plate thickness tolerances tend to run on the heavy side. The minimum under tolerance for plate thickness is 0.010”, while the over tolerance is either unrestricted or is at least 0.090” and increases with thickness.

Tolerances for bright drawn, ground, turned and polished stainless steel bars are included with the general standards for other bright steel bars in BS EN 10278.

The standard mentions the shapes round, hexagon, square and flat, but not all of these cross sections have specific tolerance tables
